The Annual Parish Barbeque takes place on the Bank Holiday Sunday, the 4th of August, at 5p.m. at the Quarry Park once again.This event was a great success last year, and should be even much better this year. Music by local Artists from 5pm to 6pm and Oceans Eleven 6pm to 8pm. Food served, fun and games, face painting, other novelties and raffle. HARVEST FESTIVAL TABLE QUIZ
The Harvest Festival organisers will hold a Table Quiz in the Peer Inn on Friday August 9th, commencing gat 9.00pm. Entrance fee is €40.00 per table. Proceeds in aid of St Christopher’s, Newtowncashel Tidy Towns and Newtowncashel GAA Club. The annual social and raffle in aid of St Christopher’s will not be held in Newtowncashel this year. In lieu, all fundraising energies are being assigned to the Harvest Festival. Patrons are asked to support accordingly.
CANOEING FOR CANCER
Niall Casserly, Dan Magan, Niall Noonan and Owen Coughlan are canoeing from the source of the Shannon to the Shannon Estuary for the Irish Cancer Society. DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
Cemetery Sundays – Saints’ Island Cemetery, August 18th; Cashel Cemetery, August 25th. Mass and Prayers for the Dead, 6.00pm. These Masses will replace the 10.30am Mass in the Church.
Pattern Day will be celebrated at Lady Well, Derrydarragh, on Saturday September 7th, the eve of the Feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mass follows the recitation of the Rosary at 6.00pm. This Mass will replace the Saturday evening Mass in the Church.
