This week will see the roll out of text messages, alerting members of its start up. If by any chance you do not receive text  please    contact any  committee member and also anyone who still wishes to get involved can do so by leaving name and mobile number and 5 euro in envelope in Kenny's shop in the village. New text alert signs went up on all approach roads this weekend with clear important garda phone number , so if you see anything suspicious please make that call and keep vigilant. We want to thank Mark Casey M.C.C. for all his help and time in getting this important project off the ground.

As part of the All Ireland One Act Drama Circuit, Newtowncashel Drama group will be performing "Cliffs Edge" by Paul Beard at the One Act Festival in Cootehill, Co. Cavan on Saturday the 8th November. A bus will be provided at a cost of €10.00 per person return. Tickets cost €10.00. Deposit of €10.00 required. As show time for the one act festival grows ever closer, an important meeting for all group members will be held on Tuesday the 4th of November at 8.30 pm in The Hill. This brief meeting will be followed by a dress rehearsal of our one act play for all members. New members welcome as always, we look forward to seeing you there!

The A.G.M. of Newtowncashel Community Games takes place on this Tuesday the 4th of November at 8.00 p.m. All are welcome. It is vital that as many parents as possible get involved so as to keep the organisation going from strength to strength.

Cairde Comhrá
Are you interested in reviving your Irish speaking? Cairde Comhrá is a group of adults who meet every Wednesday night, 8pm – 10pm, in the Co-op building in Kenagh (The old National School).  In an informal setting, we try to improve whatever level of Irish we have.   New members are welcome to join us - so if you have very little, a little or a lot and would like the opportunity to improve your “cúpla focail” please come along.

Longford Harvest Festival Committee are making a presentation to St.Christopher's in Gav's Bar,Kenagh this Saturday the 1st of November at 9.30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Music by Sharon Turley. All are welcome.

Newtowncashel Pioneer and Total Abstinance Association hold their Annual Churchgate Collection outside the Church,on this Saturday evening the 1st of November anad Sunday the 2nd of November 2014.Money collected will go towards promoting Temperance in our parish and also the Pioneer Magazine.For the young and not so young,and in the times we live in,theres never been a better time to join the Pioneer Movement.For further information,please contact any of the Pioneer council.The Longford Regional P.T.A.A. Dinner Dance is taking place on Friday night the 14th of November in the rustic Inn Abbeyshrule .Music by Chuck and June.For tickets,please contact any member of the Pioneer Council.

We extend our best wishes to Fr.Tom Kearney .S.V.D. who has been appointed to St.Mary's Parish,Athlone.Cashel is now represented on both sides of the Shannon in the midlands town,as Fr.Seán O Dowd, S.P.S.,is already ministering in the Parish of Sts.Peter and Paul on the west bank.
