This Sunday the 2nd of September,is a red letter day for the local G.A.A. Club and indeed the Parish of Newtowncashel in general,with Cashel playing Ballinora from County Cork,in Pairc Ciarán at 1.30 p.m.,in the first round of the popular R.T.E. programme,Celebrity Bainisteoir.With our Celebrity Roz Purcell going head to head with Jessica Lawlor,this should make for a very interesting clash.After weeks of hard training,the local team are well prepared for the game,so do come along for what promises to be a great day.Admission is free and do arrive early.Best wishes to all involved.

DIOCESAN PRILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK
The Ardagh and Clonmacnois Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday September 2nd. The bus will leave from "The Hill" at 10.00am. Tickets, priced at €16.00 each will be available at L & K’s Village Shop. Confessions from 12.30pm, Anointing of the Sick 2.30pm, Mass and Eucharistic Blessing of the Sick with Benediction, 3.00pm, followed by the Rosary Procession.
Pattern Day will be celebrated at Lady Well, Derrydarragh, on Saturday September 8th, the Feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mass follows the recitation of the Rosary at 6.00pm. This Mass will replace the Saturday evening Mass in the Church.
