WEDDING CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Olivia Connor and Seamus Reilly who were married on Saturday March 10th.  Olivia was Parish Representative for Child Protection.  We thank her for her commitment to that role during the past six years.  We wish Olivia and Seamus a long and happy life together.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Well done to everyone who took part in our recent Art and Modelling competition.  The results are as follows -

Well done also to Alanna Flood and Jack Sweeney who won the Handwriting competition .
The winners of the Art and Modelling go forward to the county final in Carrickedmond on Fri March 23rd at 6pm. The Handwriting Competition will be held in Killoe on Wed 21st, 7.30-8.45 pm.  Good luck to everyone!  
Under-13 Basketball will be starting soon.  Dates to follow.

CAIRDE BEAG
Enrolment is now open for September 2012. We offer the ECCE Scheme (free pre-school year), the CETS Scheme (VEC/FAS Trainees), Afterschool and Childminding. ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues on Wednesdays from 3.00pm to 9.00pm.  Thanks to those who give their time to quiet prayer.  Others are invited to join them.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS
The Stations of the Cross is a devotion that may be performed at any time of year but is particularly suited to the Lenten Season.  Instead of the Rosary, the Way of the Cross will be followed on the Fridays of Lent at 7.30pm.  All are urged to make a special effort to participate in this traditional devotion.

LENTEN MASSES
During Lent, Mass will be celebrated at 7.00am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  This arrangement will give a greater number of people an opportunity to come to Mass during Lent.

TALKS ON THE EUCHARIST
Six presentations on different aspects of the Eucharist will be given in the Pastoral Centre, St Mel’s College, on the Wednesdays of Lent.  The fourth presentation, entitled “Eucharist and Community” takes place on Wednesday March 21st at 8.00pm.  The speaker is Moya Hegarty.  All are welcome.

CONFIRMATION CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to the twenty-two children who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop O’Reilly on Tuesday March 20th, at 4.00pm.

First Holy Communion, Sunday May 13th, 12.00 noon.

CÁIRDE COMHRA
The Irish language conversation group are meeting in the Hill at 8am on this and every Thurs night. All members please attend and new members are always welcome.
For all lovers of the language an interesting programme called Bernard Dunne Bród continues each week  at 7.30pm on RTE 1. Bernard only started to learn Gaelic recently and is an inspiration to many. Hope you will have a look at it.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
The Parish Pastoral Council will meet in “The Hill” on Wednesday week, March 28th, at 8.30pm.  All members are asked to attend please.

SPRING STATION MASSES
Fr Brady wishes to extend his appreciation and thanks, for their welcome, hospitality and generosity, to the thirteen households who hosted the Spring Station Masses recently.  A feature on this occasion was the number of young couples who took the Station for the first time – a trend which augurs well for the future of the tradition.

NEWTOWNCASHEL TODDLER GROUP
Newtowncashel Toddler Group continues to meet every Tuesday morning in “The Hill” from 9.45am – 12.15pm.  Please feel free to join us anytime!  On Tuesday March 27th Joanna from Ardagh Music Room will join us for some Kindermusik.
