CELEBRITY BAINISTEÓIR

This Sunday July 22nd sees a historic occasion for the local GAA Club and indeed the parish of Newtowncashel in general, as the popular RTÉ reality television series “Celebrity Bainisteoir” comes to Cashel with the celebrity being revealed that afternoon.  The schedule for Reveal Day is as follows –
10:00 - 11:00 Club profile. Players at the club in full Cashel jerseys.  Current Bainisteoir will also be present.  
11:00 - 1:00 Camera crew relocate to the Village. Talking to locals, getting shots of village preparing for reveal.  
1:00 - 2:30 Back to club, getting club prepared, talking to spectators.
2:30 - Players in lockdown, Camera crew meet Celebrity to do driving shoots entering Newtowncashel.
3:00 – THE CELEBRITY WILL BE REVEALED!
3:15 - Players and Celebrity leave dressing room and address the crowd.
3:30 - 4:30 Training session.
4:30 - 5:15 Post Training Interviews with Celebrity and some of the players.
5:15 - Celeb mingles with crowd.

We hope that there will be a huge turnout for this memorable occasion in Cashel and updates will feature regularly in the Local Notes and in the Newtowncashel Celebrity Bainisteoir page.

PARISH BARBEQUE
The Annual Parish Barbeque organised by the GAA Club takes place on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday weekend, August 5th, from 5.00pm on.  The event was a phenomenal success last year and should be even better this year, particularly with the Celbrity Bainisteoir “in town”!

NEW BABY
Congratulations to Lorraine and Gary Fitzpatrick on the birth of their new baby boy recently.

CASHEL GUN CLUB
We wish the Cashel Gun Club A Team the best of luck as they represent both their Club and County in the All-Ireland Clay Pigeon Shooting Final this weekend July 21st and 22nd.  The Club wishes to extend a sincere word of appreciation to Adie Farrell, Lanesboro, who sponsored the team cartridges.  

LAUNCH OF 15TH LOUGH REE ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMER FESTIVAL
The 15th annual festival will be launched in a grand open air performance on the 27th July in the newly cleaned up Lanesborough Commons Quarry. Officiating the launch will be Roscommon born, celebrated writer and journalist John Waters. The line-up for this auspicious evening’s entertainment will include harpist Edel Loftus, trad musician Noel Carberry and Irish dancing. Food and wine will be served and sky lanterns will be released (conditions permitting) on the night to mark the occasion.  The Lough Ree Environmental Summer Festival will run from 9th Aug—12th Aug. CASHEL GAA LOTTO
Don’t forget to play your lotto numbers as Cashel GAA’s Lotto stands at €10,000.  There are weekly, monthly and yearly options to play your numbers.  You’ve got to be in it to win it.

CEMETERY SUNDAYS
Saints’ Island Cemetery, August 19th; Cashel Cemetery, August 26th.  Mass and Prayers for the Dead, 6.00pm.  These Masses will replace the 10.30am Mass in the Church.

PATTERN DAY
Pattern Day will be celebrated at Lady Well, Derrydarragh, on Saturday September 8th, the Feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Mass follows the recitation of the Rosary at 6.00pm.  This Mass will replace the Saturday evening Mass in the Church.

NEWTOWNCASHEL TODDLER GROUP
Newtowncashel Toddler Group will continue throughout the summer months and meets every Tuesday morning from 9.45am – 12.00 noon.  See you then!
