The Parishes of Cashel and Rathcline were left reeling on Tuesday morning last week with the news of the sudden and untimely death of Alison Smyth, just a day before her 29th birthday.  Ali, as she was known, was a beautiful, intelligent and extremely popular girl and a very gifted sportswoman, and her death has left so many people shocked and grieving.  To her heartbroken parents Pat and Brendan, her sister Janice and brother Gordon, her boyfriend James, her nephews, her large extended family and her many, many friends, we offer our deepest sympathy.  May she rest in peace.

Irish conversation groups have been in existence for a number of years throughout the country and are proving very popular with a wide range of people with varying levels of Irish speaking capabilities. These groups offer people an opportunity to meet on a weekly basis and converse through our native language. This is far removed from evening class type of learning and is a fun way to enjoy or improve your skills and love of our language, remember it is geared for all levels.
If you are interested in forming/joining such a group in Newtowncashel please contact Liam Finnegan on (086) 258 5656. We will be holding a meeting/social evening to chat about our plans.
