WEDDING CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Edel Fallon and Ciaran Nulty who were married on Saturday 5th of May in St Matthew's Church, Crosskey's, Co. Cavan.
We wish them a long and happy life together.

THE UNVEILING OF HEBER DONN
Amid glorious May sunshine and showers Heber Donn was unveiled in his new home in the village of Newtowncashel.
A warrior out of the misty past, this great limestone sculpture will be part of the Newtowncashel landscape for centuries to come.
The committee wish to thank all who helped make this possible and also to the sponsors.

TIDY TOWNS
The monthly Tidy Towns meeting will be held in "The Hill" on Wednesday May 9th, at 8.30pm.  The agenda includes a review of events of the weekend.  A further meeting will be held at "The Hill" on Wednesday May 16th, at 8.30pm.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Those interested in taking part in the swimming competitions should contact Emma Murray (086) 865 4711, as soon as possible.  Please continue to collect the Tesco vouchers as your support will ensure we can purchase much needed sports equipment for the children of the parish! Vouchers can be given to any committee member.  Thank you!

CASHEL MINOR CLUB
The Cashel Minor Club are holding a draw on May 19th and tickets for this draw are in circulation at the moment.  Your support is greatly appreciated.
Declan Gilmore has DVDs and photographs available of the recent Minor Presentation, should anybody require copies.  Contact Declan on (086) 834 2935 for details.

CASHEL GAA LOTTO
The Cashel GAA Lotto is nearing €10,000.  To be in with a chance of winning, play your numbers now!  There are weekly, monthly or yearly options available.

Newtowncashel Toddler Group meets next on Tuesday May 8th.  See you then!

Newtowncashel Fine Gael Branch wishes to thank most sincerely all who contributed to their recent Church Gate Collection.

PART TIME CLEANER REQUIRED
A Part-Time Cleaner is required for St Mary’s National School, Newtowncashel.   Approximately six hours per week, spread over three evenings.  Applications, in writing, with up-to-date CV, to The Chairman, Board of Management, St Mary’s National School, Newtowncashel, Co Longford, before 5.00pm, on Friday May 18th, 2012.

SOUTHERN GAELS WIN MINOR TITLE
Well done to Southern Gaels minor team who last Friday evening won the Special minor league Division 1 Group 2 title, when they turned in a brilliant performance to overcome Clonguish Og on a scoreline of 4-08 to 0-09.The crowd were treated to a cracking game, with outstanding performances all round, and no shortage of stunning goals.  The team on duty were Shane Bannon, Andrew Farrell, Mel Farrell, Shane Cosgrove, Casey Weafer, Niall Casserly, George McDermott, Corie Carberry, Quinten Lee, Peter Bohan, Mark Rossiter, Eoin Flood, Gavin Kelly, Mark Murtagh, Conor Farrell, James Skelly, Gary Egan, Fergal Casserly. Congratulations also to their management team and let’s hope the championship can bring even more success.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION DAY
Sunday May 13th is First Holy Communion Day.  Twelve children will receive the Blessed Eucharist for the first time.  The Mass at 12.00 noon replaces the scheduled Sunday Mass.
