ICA
Newtowncashel Guild ICA will meet in “The Hill” on Tuesday March 6th at 8.00pm, sharp.

TIDY TOWNS
The monthly Tidy Towns meeting takes place in “The Hill” on Wednesday March 7th at 8.00pm.  Please note earlier time.

ST MARY’S NATIONAL SCHOOL ENROLMENT
St Mary’s National School Enrolment for September 2012 takes place from March 5th – 16th.  Enrolment packs can be collected from the school and relevant forms returned during this period.

NEW BABY
Congratulations to Margarita and Kenneth Rollins on the birth of their new baby girl last week!

RATHCLINE LADIES
The Rathcline Ladies Club are hosting a Senior Ladies Memorial match in honour of the late Alison (Ali) Smyth on Sunday 18th March in Clonbonny at 5.30pm V Garrycastle.   Refreshments will be held in the Club House after the Game and admission is optional.  
Under 14 training will begin on Saturday 10th March at 10.30.  Any ladies that have still not registered please do so as soon as possible as the leagues will commence shortly.

The winners of the Art and Modelling go forward to the county final in Carrickedmond on Fri March at 6pm. The Handwriting Competition will be held in Killoe on Wed 21st, 7.30-8.45 pm.  Good luck to everyone!  

GAA TABLE QUIZ
There will be a Cashel players’ table quiz in Fallon’s on Sunday March 18th and your support would be very much appreciated.

CHOIR REHESARSAL FOR ST PATRICK’S DAY
A rehearsal for 10.30am Mass on St Patrick’s Day will be held in the Church on Friday evening, March 9th, at 8.30pm.  Singers from both senior and junior choirs, aswell as musicians and dancers are invited to attend.

FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT
Fairtrade Fortnight, with the focus on Fairtrade Certified Cotton, runs from Monday February 27th to Sunday March 11th.  The fortnight is an invitation to highlight Fairtrade labels on products, particularly cotton clothing.  See http://www.fairtrade.ie/fortnight for more information.

LOURDES PILGRIMAGE

Details regarding the special section for the sick from Rev. Michael Scanlon PP, Cloghan, Birr, Co Offaly.  The organisers request the names of sick people who would like to join the pilgrimage.  Names should be submitted as soon as possible please to Elizabeth Clyne (043) 332 5156.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues on Wednesdays from 3.00pm to 9.00pm.  Thanks to those who give their time to quiet prayer.  Others are invited to join them.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS
The Stations of the Cross is a devotion that may be performed at any time of year but is particularly suited to the Lenten Season.  Instead of the Rosary, the Way of the Cross will be followed on the Fridays of Lent at 7.30pm.  All are urged to make a special effort to participate in this traditional devotion.

LENTEN MASSES
During Lent, Mass will be celebrated at 7.00am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  This arrangement will give a greater number of people an opportunity to come to Mass during Lent.

TALKS ON THE EUCHARIST
Six presentations on different aspects of the Eucharist will be given in the Pastoral Centre, St Mel’s College, on the Wednesdays of Lent.  The second presentation takes place on Wednesday March 7th at 8.00pm.  All are welcome.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
First Confession, Thursday March 8th, 7.00pm.  Eight children will come to the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time.
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered by Bishop O’Reilly on Tuesday March 20th, at 4.00pm.
First Holy Communion, Sunday May 13th, 12.00 noon.

DO THIS IN MEMORY
The First Holy Communion Children and their parents participate in the liturgy on Sunday next, March 11th, the third Sunday of Lent.

JUNIOR CHOIR REHEARSAL
The Junior Choir will hold a rehearsal in the Church on Saturday March 10th from 5.30 – 6.30pm, in preparation for Do This In Memory.  Time permitting, the rehearsal will also include material for St Patrick’s Day and the Easter Season.  We look forward to a full attendance.

PTAA
The Regional Pioneer AGM will be held in Tealach Íosa (the McGoey Hall) St Mel’s Road/Chapel Street, Longford, on Thursday March 8th, at 8.30pm.  The meeting will also plan the calendar or Pioneer events for 2012.

CÁIRDE COMHRA
The Irish language conversation group are meeting in the Hill at 8am on this and every Thurs night. All members please attend and new members are always welcome.
For all lovers of the language an interesting programme called Bernard Dunne Bród started on TV on Monday night last and will continue each week  at 7.30pm on RTE 1. Bernard only started to learn Gaelic recently and is an inspiration to many. Hope you will have a look at it.

SPRING STATION MASSES
Fr Brady wishes to extend his appreciation and thanks, for their welcome, hospitality and generosity, to the thirteen households who hosted the Spring Station Masses.  A feature on this occasion was the number of young couples who took the Station for the first time – a trend which augurs well for the future of the tradition.

NEWTOWNCASHEL TODDLER GROUP
Newtowncashel Toddler Group continues to meet every Tuesday morning in “The Hill” from 9.45am – 12.15pm.  This week, Tuesday March 6th, we will again have Jo from Ardagh Music Room joining us to do KinderMusik!  Please feel free to join us anytime!
