PLEASE GIVE BLOOD
The mobile unit of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service Board visits the Longford Arms Hotel on Tuesday June 5th, Wednesday June 6th and Thursday June 7th from 4.30pm – 8.00pm each day.  Blood donors are always needed.

TIDY TOWNS
The monthly Tidy Towns meeting will be held in "The Hill" on Wednesdya June 6th at 8.30pm.  In 2011 the first adjudication took place on June 16th.  That date is now a mere fortnight away.

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
The Board of Management of St Mary’s National School will meet in the school on Wednesday June 6th at 8.30pm.  All members are requested to attend please.

JUNIOR CHOIR
The Junior Choir will hold a rehearsal in the Church on FRIDAY June 8th, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, in preparation for Sunday’s Do This in Memory Mass.  Please note the change of date from our usual Saturday rehearsals.

SLIM-A-THON
The GAA are currently running a Slim-A-Thon.  It’s not too late to join in, the more the merrier!  Your support is greatly appreciated!  More details in the coming weeks.

ICA
Longford Federation Garden Competition 2012.  Flower Garden Competition: Confined to ICA members only. 1st Prize: Philo Kelly Trophy & Valuable runner up prizes.  Vegetable Garden Competition: This competition is open to all gardeners, male and female in Co. Longford. 1st Prize: Quinn Supply Stores Trophy & Valuable runner up prizes. Entries before June 23rd. Judging will take place during the 1st and 2nd week in July. CASHEL GAA LOTTO
The Cashel GAA Lotto is nearing €10,000.  To be in with a chance of winning, play your numbers now!  There are weekly, monthly or yearly options available.

NEWTOWNCASHEL TODDLER GROUP
Newtowncashel Toddler Group meets next on Tuesday June 12th.  See you then!

RETIREMENT
Catherine Mulvihill has retired after almost nine years as cleaner at St Mary’s National School.  We thank her for the thoroughness and dedication during that time.  She is succeeded by Fidelma Killian.

EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS
The bus taking people to the Closing Ceremony in Croke Park on Sunday June 17th, is now fully booked.  Details regarding departure time, etc, will be published next weekend.  Groups or individuals who wish to travel to the RDS independently may still do so.  On-line booking closed on Monday (4th) but booking is still available on site.

DO THIS IN MEMORY
The First Communion children and their parents participate in the liturgy on Sunday next, June 10th, Corpus Christi, Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ.  It is the final Sunday of this year’s programme.
