Pattern Day will be celebrated at Lady Well, Derrydarragh,on this Saturday the 5th of September. Mass follows recitation of The Rosary at 6.00 p.m.This Mass will replace the Saturday evening Mass in the Church.
Pattern Day parking will be available in Barney Casey's field for those approaching from Carrodger.Parking in John Mulvihill's field for those arriving via the Wood Road.Only through traffic will have road access past the field entrances. People attending the Pattern are requested to co-operate with the stewards.

Clonmacnois Pattern Day takes place on Sunday the 13th of September at 3.00 p.m. This Pattern Day will commemorate the 1400th anniversary of the death of St Columbanus.

The death occurred of Annie Teresa (Nan) Farrell nee Donnelly,Clonmee on Monday last the 24th of August.Nan was a true lady whose passing will leave a great void in the lives of those who knew her.She always had a kind word for everyone that she met and also had a great sense of humour.She will be sadly missed.  To her son Anthony, and all her , relatives and friends,we extend our deepest sympathies. May her Soul Rest in Peace.

The Harvest Festival and Field Day schedeuled for last Sunday the 23rd of August was cancelled due to the forecast of adverse weather. In lieu of the Festival and Field Day,a fundraising night will be held in Gav's Bar,Kenagh on Saturday the 5th of September. Barbeque and Pig on a spit .Music with waltxing and jiving competitions. Proceeds in aid of St.Christopher's.

Following another successful meeting last week,we continue with another meeting,this Thursday evening the 3rd of September in The Hill at 8.30 p.m. The purpose of these meetings is to put together a submission to Eircom,for their competition to supply a community or parish with broadband which is worth €250,000.00 of an investment.If you are interested in contributing in any way,please do come along.

The Diocesan Pilfrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday the 6th of September. The bus leaves from The Hill at 10.00 a.m. Tickets are €16.00 each,available at Kenny's Foodstore ,The Village..
Confessiona at 12.30 p.m. ,Anointing of the sick at 2.30 p.m. , Mass and Eucharistic Blessing of the Sick with Benediction an 3.00 p.m. followed by Rosary Procession.

The Irish Hospice Foundation is now seeking to appoint experienced, energetic people to raise funds in the local area through a variety of fundraising activities canvassing for donors who are willing to support its work through regular monthly payments. These positions are self-employed long term. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role which will involve a variety of fundraising activities. Full training will be provided. The Irish Cancer Society’s Care to Drive service is currently seeking volunteer drivers to drive local patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments. We are looking for volunteers to pick patients up at their homes, drive them to the door of the hospital, pick them up when they are finished their treatment and bring them home again.
