The death occurred on Monday the 23rd of November last of Peter Nolan Carrickmoran.Peter was a quiet unassuming gentleman,who had a great sense of humour and wit.He was a dedicated husband and father and his passing will leave a great loss in the lives of all those close to him.To his wife Bridie,daughter Ann,sons Sean and Seamus ,sister Mary and brother Pat ,we extend our deepest sympathies.May his Soul Rest in Peace.
CHRISTMAS DAY RUN
It's that time of year again when preparations are beginning for the Annual Christmas Day Run from Newtowncashel to Lanesborough in aid of the Longford branch of MS Ireland. This is the 25th year of the event and over the course of that time approximately €180,000 has been raised for Longford MS. Last year 175 people took part and we're again asking for your continued support this year and hopefully we'll be able to further increase the number of participants and sponsorship for what is a very worthy cause. The Tidy Towns judges in their adjudication report mentioned the many inscription stones built into and on walls around the village for people who made contributions to the village.
