FIRST HOLY COMMUNNION
This Sunday the 10th of May is First Holy Communnion Day.Eleven children will recieve the Blessed Eucharist for the first time The Mass at 12.00 noon replaces the scheduled Sunday Mass.
The Parish Pastoral Council will meet in The Hill this Thursday the 7th of May at 8.30 p.m. The business of the meeting is to include the distribution of financial acknowledgements for the year 2014, and Tax reclaim forms.

The Irish Cancer Society’s Care to Drive service is currently seeking volunteer drivers to drive local patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments. We are looking for volunteers to pick patients up at their homes, drive them to the door of the hospital, pick them up when they are finished their treatment and bring them home again. The Harvest Festival will be held in Newtowncashel on Sunday the 23rd of August, commencing at 12.00 noon. This will be the festival's third consecutive visit to Newtowncashel, thanks to the availability and suitability of the site and the success of the event on the two previous occasions. CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP
The Student Scholarship,sponsored by Ballymahon and District Credit Union is operational again this year. It is open to all Leaving Cert students attending the Vocational and Mercy Secondary Schools. The student must be completing a FÁS Apprenticeship, full time Certificate, Diploma or Degree course at any University, IT or approved third level college. All students who wish to enter the draw, must be a member of the Credit Union before the 31st of May 2015.The recipient of the Scholarship will receive €1000.00 per annum for a maximum of three years.
